The store, and the people who come to it.
Mountain Hardware and Lumber Supply has been in the hands of the Jazwiecki family since 1976. Cory Jazwiecki took over as owner in January 2020 — the third generation to run the place.
What that actually means
It means the person who sells you the lumber is the person who has to look at the deck afterwards. It means the store has been here through fifty winters of Northwoods building seasons, and it has stayed the kind of business that will price your whole package off a set of plans rather than send you to an aisle.
We are open year round, and we work on both ends of the job — a room that needs painting on a Saturday, and a house that needs framing on a schedule.
The pitch, plainly
There are bigger stores an hour from here. What this one has is a full yard for a town this size, a rental department with most of what a project needs, and people at the counter who have done the work you are about to start.

Cory Jazwiecki takes over
The third generation becomes owner in January, continuing the lumber yard, the hardware store and the Do It Best Rental Center.
The people
The real difference between here and a store an hour away is who you talk to. We go to the seminars and the manufacturer meetings so that when you ask which product belongs on your wall, somebody here has an answer and a reason.
